Checkit Terms of Use
These terms and conditions refer to Checkit as the operator of parking fees at Þingvellir. Checkit operates the website checkit.is, which is an electronic payment platform for parking at Þingvellir. Checkit is owned by two companies:

- Policy ID: 520903-2750
Checkit is responsible for the websites checkit.is, the information that appears there, and the information that Checkit customers enter there for the purpose of establishing a business.
Users refer to parties, individuals and legal entities, who utilize Checkit's services by using the website checkit.is.
Users are responsible for familiarizing themselves with these terms and conditions before using the services covered by these terms and conditions. By entering into a transaction through checkit.is, users accept these terms and conditions and also declare that they will comply with these terms and conditions and, where applicable, any changes that may be made to them in their transactions with Checkit.
These terms and conditions apply to Checkit's services, in connection with the website checkit.is, which Checkit owns and operates in connection with charging for parking spaces of the operators with whom it has agreed.
All customer service is provided in the customer service center. The customer service center is open every day from 9 am to 4 pm. Please note that you can get all information about the service, complete payments and get answers to frequently asked questions at www.checkit.is.
Parking fees can be paid for at payment machines with payment cards where available, otherwise there are a variety of methods available such as automatic transfer to online banking or with selected third-party apps such as EasyPark.
The user undertakes to comply with the terms and conditions set at any time, and more detailed information can be found in the price list on the website www.checkit.is for each operator.
The fee schedule for the service at any given time is published on the website www.checkit.is and is part of these terms. Users can also obtain information about the fee schedule from customer service.
The user authorizes the charging of the payment card that he provides for payment for the service provided to him according to the stated price list at any time. If the payment card is not debited, Checkit reserves the right to collect the payment by other means.
The user must provide a vehicle registration number, credit card number, and other necessary information to access the service.
In accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 2 of Act No. 97/2010, the owner of a vehicle or the person in charge, in the case of a lease, is responsible for paying fees for the use of parking spaces at Þingvellir.
The user is always fully responsible for any damage caused by incorrect use of the service. If the damage is caused by incorrect input or for other reasons, it is the user's responsibility and Checkit is not responsible for any damage caused by this. The person who registers information on checkit.is is responsible for its accuracy.
A user is not exempt from paying a fee for Checkit's services even if the service is not accessible for some reason, but must then use other payment options.
Checkit is authorized to block a user's service without notice if Checkit has reason to believe that a user is abusing the service or has provided false information during registration. The same applies if a user is in default or if it is not possible to charge the registered payment card for the requested service.
Checkit is not liable for any damage, direct or indirect, suffered by users as a result of using service areas under Checkit that can be attributed to the actions and/or inaction of users, external circumstances and/or causes beyond their control, natural disasters of any kind, or other factors beyond Checkit's control.
Users are responsible for any damage they may cause to Þingvellir and/or related structures and equipment.
A user can notify of termination of the service by sending an email to checkit@checkit.is
These terms and conditions shall be interpreted in accordance with Icelandic law. If a dispute arises or if anyone believes that they have a claim against Checkit or the operator based on these terms and conditions, such dispute or claim will be referred to the Icelandic courts.
